Pedestrian Direction Fail?: Darden Unveils New Stop Signs for Walkers

Dig these new stop signs that were put yesterday outside of the Darden School of Business.  Stopping isn't just for cars anymore . . .

What happens if you run the stop sign and a police officer sees you?

This is hilarious.

What's the point of a crosswalk if you have to yield to traffic?

If someone says that there is a God, another will say that there isn't. If someone says that Creed is a Christian band, someone will say that they are not. Coincidence? Maybe. Symbolic? I think so =)

PSA: HLS students don't need stops signs to keep them from getting run over by cars at crosswalks on the way to the gym.

HTH

Maybe the reason is that HLS students are genetically superior to Virginia Law students? Just throwing that out there, not taking a stand on it.

Well played, 1:04

Write a post about this: why is there a cop patrolling the library right now?

Anonymous said...

1:04, maybe that's 'cause HLS students never go to the gym.

Anonymous said...

Probably because we're tired of having our laptops stolen during exams.

Anonymous said...

If not genetics then what is it that explains the difference in performance at law school?

Anonymous said...

environment, idiot

Maybe they can get stop signs for jackass cyclists who positively never adhere to any of the rules of the road but somehow want to be respected by drivers...

Anonymous said...

Environment? Are there two separate law schools?

5:46, maybe the bikers are just emulating all of the cars around them that are in constant violation of the traffic code.

More hard hitting journalism. Great work. This blog is such a service to the community. Aside from the always constructive debate in the comments (especially the personal attacks and alpha/beta debate), we get critical information. Cars parked poorly. New stop signs. NGSL related material. Somebody should congratulate themselves in a newspaper article for this blog. Maybe tomorrow...

Yes, maybe!

6:46 is a bitter law weekly softball bro!

Agreed 6:26pm. What this blog needs is more hard hitting journalism like "what [writer] did over spring break" or "5 entries from [writer]'s diary."

To be fair, UVA Law Blog doesn't stand a chance with the Law Weekly scooping all the interesting stories first. Maybe the next time an uninteresting and poorly written story about a law student's dad joining the faculty -- rather than tuition increases or what firms are extending callbacks -- needs to be written, Rule 12(f) will be all over it.

This is shocking. I'm sending 1:04's comment to his summer employer.

Everyone who goes to Uva Law is by definition beta. The best way to check if you are uber-BETA, however, is to see whether you think you are popular at Uva Law. If you think you are -- and you probably are, it's not hard -- then all hope is lost for you, my son.

All of the other threads had comments blocked so I guess I'll have to say my piece here.

Rule 12f, on behalf of this 1L I want to thank you for everything you've done this year. In the fall, I was a scared, lost first year who knew nothing about the school. Thanks to your blog, I was able to hit the ground running and had a great first year. I also appreciated having an open forum for students to discuss relevant topics or just crack a joke or two with other students (although that aspect of the blog seems to have gone by the wayside). So, thank you for everything you have done!
